We don’t often wonder about the origins of chemistry, and many of us, whether mostly done with our education or just now preparing for an imminent test, may wish it had never existed. But is this really justified? Is chemistry really uninteresting and insurmountably difficult, or do we simply not know enough about it?
Egypt was the first to engender the concept of chemistry, and contemporary society is still trying to understand its secrets. Before you boldly declare that you don’t like chemistry, remember you love fireworks, remember how much joy a single additional piece of chocolate can bring you, that you reach for vitamin C when you catch a cold, and that you’re always relieved when your mother manages to remove a stain from your favorite pair of trousers. Still, you might find you are most in tune with chemistry when someone tells you “There’s chemistry between us.”
The Hi5 educational platform’s teachers may like wordplay, but they are here to offer you actual knowledge and serious learning, and to teach you to apply chemistry outside the classroom as well—in everyday life.
