One advantage with languages that may not enjoy great popularity is that you needn’t search too far in order to find ways to obtain an internationally recognized certificate. In this case, you can take the so-called CCE (Czech Language Certificate Exam) test.
The CCE international examination
Non-native speakers can take this exam both in the Czech Republic and in several European countries. These include:
Hungary, Budapest,
Austria, Vienna,
Belgium, Brussels,
Great Britain, London,
Bulgaria, Sofia.
You can take this exam in order to obtain an internationally recognized diploma, at levels A1 through C1. There is a fee for taking the examination, while the online application for the exam itself is free. There are also discounts available, for example if you are a student at a Czech university, or if you are taking the exam with at least five other people, in which case you apply as a group.
You need to achieve at least 60%, in each individual exam section, in order to pass the exam overall. You can find out the results online, within 30 days of taking the test. You will receive your certificate in the mail, seven weeks after the date of the exam at the earliest.
Before you decide to take the test, make sure you have all the information you need, for example the application deadlines and the date of the test itself, so that you don’t miss it, as you can only take this exam outside Czechia once or twice a year.
